[Oa] paper

Hi all,

I've managed to get some Bristol paper, Simili Japon, something with bamboo and Canson Mi Teintes in a few shades. I like the structure of Mi Teintes and the colors. It's easy to cut, but the cards are not very firm. Today I wanted to try the Simili Japon, but instead I took the Bristol paper. It's really firm, almost like plastic and difficult to cut because halfway the knife went blunt. I was afraid to put more pressure on the knife, otherwise I would cut too far. The result is very steady and the building (Hotel American Amsterdam) looks like a real miniature doll house! You can find it on my OA page along with some other new work: http://hannahbiemold.exto.org/kunstwerken/4602_origami+architecture.html

For people in the Netherlands, I'll exhibit the last works in the Pop-up gallery in Utrecht from May 19 to July 1st. The opening is on May 20 from 15:00.

Best, Hannah

Hi Hannah,

The post from Art was good also. I agree that the canson paper is very versatile . I use it for all my OA projects. It comes in some of the prettiest colors also.
I usually buy the 8 1/2 X 11 size, less waste. But it also comes in larger sizes.

When I first started OA I used the recommended Kent paper, and there were a few others. But after all the cutting and detail going into the OA piece, I found the white
Of the paper actually looked dirty to me, no matter what I made or what one I used, it had a funky grayish dirty look to it. This is only my option, that is why I searched and tried all different papers until I fell into the Canson. You will not be disappointed, trust me.

Happy OA -ing!
Julie
