Hello Hannah,
My name is Art Rollo the one who suggested using Mi-Teintes paper in your referenced e-mail. The reason I like the paper is its versatility. I have attached a photo (excuse the quality as it was a quickie I took with my iPod) of one of my works. The background was taken from a photo of the church printed on the smooth side of the paper. The church structure consists of six "pop-out" sections on the textured side of white paper to show the adobe which is further enhanced with embossing to depict various architectural components. The roofs are covered with the textured side of earth red paper to give the impression of tile. The art work is mounted on Mi-Teintes board and it's total depth is .75 inches which allowed me to mount it along with matting and glass In a standard frame with a rabbit of 1.0 inch.

I hope this gives you a little in sight of the versatillity of the paper.
Good Luck!

Art Rollo
