Dear Richard,
Could you, please, explain to me why Massahiro Chatani's 1990 books will not printed before 2065?
Thanks in advance,

Jane,
Unfortunately, it's out of print (from my searches) and not many copies are
on the market. Amazon has 8 used; adall.com has zero; Alibris has 4 between
50 and 200 smackers; BESTBOOKBUYS.COM have a few already cited by the other
sites; Bookcloseouts.com has zero.
It carries a 1990 copyright, so the 'Disney Protection Act" will keep it out
of the public domain until 2065.
Happy hunting.
Richard

Subject: [Oa] seeking source for Professor Chatani's grand piano pattern
Hello:
I am looking for the grand piano design by professor Chatani and would
greatly appreciate it if anyone on this list can tell me which one of his
books contain this pattern--and where I might get a copy of the pattern. I
saw a book by him listed on Amazon a few weeks back that had it featured on
the cover, but I can't seem to find that book on Amazon anymore. The book
was also very expensive, I remember it being retailed for about $159.00
Thank you very much for you help!
Jane

Sharing a pattern from an out-of-print book that is difficult to find
(and outrageously expensive on the used market) would be "fair use."
So, if anyone has the book and feels like scanning the pattern for our
new subscriber, I don't think it would be an issue. I would do it but,
I don't have that one in my OA library.
Best,

Nevermind. I do have it after all.

I just want to say "thank you so much" for your quick and generous responses. I really appreciate all the help and lead I received. Too bad that the public won't be in print again until 2065.? They are so beautiful.

Hi:
Another question from a newbie: where might I find nice Japanese style pastel shade cardstock in the U.S. that are used in Keiko Nakazawa's books? I like those light shades and I recall them being quite commonly available in Japan and even China. But the pastel colors that I have seen in my local stores and on-line stores are not quite the same. Maybe what Ms. Nakazawa uses isn't considered pastel colors, but by another name/designation?
Thanks,
Jane

Pop-Up Cards For All OccasionsBy Chatani/NakazawaOndorisha 1990ISBN 0-87040-808-6
Hope this helps.
