Hi Holt,

I can see where watching video over dial-up might not be too pleasant.

I'll give the definition a shot:

A sliceform is a representation of a 3D solid object using flat pieces
with interlocking slots, typically arranged in a grid-like
configuration. The way they are constructed means that it is usually
possible to fold them flat.

I have also heard sliceforms attached to cards referred to as
"multi-piece OA."

A quick search for "sliceform" with Google Image Search (
http://images.google.com ) turned up a number of images of typical
sliceform constructs:

Professor Chatani and Keiko Nakazawa's book _Pop-Up Geometric Origami_
is mostly sliceform constructs:

Keiko Nakazawa has done quite a few sliceform flower card designs.

Marivi Garrido has done a number of architectural sliceforms or
sliceform-like designs. For example:

There are several sliceform constructs in this Flickr gallery from one
of our fellow list members:

Anyone else have a more concise or accurate definition? Or more
prototypical/authoritative image sources?

Best,

Andrew Crawford
