OA Community,
Since I am basically new to the OA mailing list I do not currently
have a feel for how often e-mails are sent around on various topics
and issues. In a previous e-mail I mentioned a possible idea of
establishing a discussion forum. Such could be used as the main
staging area for all discussions, leaving the e-mail list for such
things as a monthly communication or whatever.
I need for you to tell me, would you have an interest in using a
forum in place of e-mail? Would it be utilized? I am also involved
in other paper craft areas (such as paper automata and paper
modeling), and those areas have discussion forums which work very
well for the members. They are central repositories of information,
and people use them.
If sufficient interest is shown then I would be happy to set up an OA
forum on one of the better free forum sponsering sites (ad based) or
possibly on one of the lesser expensive paid sites (possibly
requiring a $1.00 yearly donation from each member).
This forum could be used for OA discussions and whatever other paper
related discussions suit your fancy. I am also looking into which of
these sites could also be used as a database repository for patterns
as well.
Just let me know your thoughts, or tell me to keep quiet and stop
bugging you.
Thanks. Ken.
