[Oa] Paper Stock for OA

Hi Max,

Welcome to the OA list.

The prototypical OA stock referenced in all of the books by Professor
Chatani, Keiko Nakazawa, and Takaaki Kihara is Kent paper. It is a
typical stiff paper stock, lighter than bristol, with a smooth surface.
I normally carry it in my online shop ( http://shop.evermore.com ) but,
it is currently out-of-stock. I'm not sure where it else it might be
available.

For most of the OA cards I build these days, I use paper from an Auqabee
Super Deluxe 808 Sketch Book. I see those at most local art supply
stores here. The paper is relatively stiff for the weight and, has a
little bit of texture (or "tooth"), which I prefer to a completely
smooth finish for most pieces.

Generally, you want something that is stiff enough that it won't curl
but, light-weight enough that it can cut and fold easily.

I usually use a heavier stock for backing cards. The specific qualities
there are probably less critical.

I have a small pile of samples of different light-weight card stocks
here that I am planning to try sometime in the next few weeks. I'll
definitely post if I come up with a new favorite.
