[Oa] sliceform: torus with a tangent plane

Hello everybody,

My favourite at the moment to make is cards with sliceforms. The subject is
made of several pieces of paper that slide together... I want to make the
torus that is described in the book bij John Sharp: Surfaces: explorations
with sliceforms.

I can't make anything logic out of the information in the book. (page 161)
Is this the pattern that is shown?

Can anybody help me out?
