[Oa] Sam Buxton's Mikroworld

I thought this might be of interest to fellow OA enthusiasts: a British
designer named Sam Buxton is creating pop-ups from thin pieces of stainless
steel. Like OA, he appears to use only cuts and folds. Unlike OA, the
current pieces are not in a card format and rely on the steel to hold the
sculptures in shape. He calls the series "Mikroworld."

There is a one-page article (one paragraph with photos) in the April 2004
Wired Magazine. The online version is here:

The interface for Sam Buxton's Mikroworld website is a terrible Flash-based
mess. It is rather difficult to use and, unfortunately, the Flash makes it
impossible for me to link directly to the section with the images to spare
you the inconvenience of figuring out how to use it. It requires visitors
to provide an email address for entry but, doesn't appear to do any kind of
validation on it before allowing access. If you can get through it, there
are images of the current pieces:

Several of the pieces are available for sale through the Design Museum in
London. Unfortunately, their site also uses a Flash-based interface. Look
in the "Design Museum Shop" under "Playing."

The HTML version of their site has a brief article about Sam Buxton:

... and The Times has an interview:
