I've been back from the Origamic Architecture exhibit at the American Craft Museum in New York for a few weeks but, have been too buried in work to post anything until now. The exhibit is wonderful. There are a large number of fantastic pieces from Masahiro Chatani, Keiko Nakazawa, Takaaki Kihara, Marivi Garrido, and Ingrid Siliakus. If you are anywhere near New York before September 2, 2001, you owe it to yourself to stop in and see it. There were quite a few OA aficionados in attendance at the opening reception and seminars. We had a number of interesting discussions in and around the exhibit, several of which will come to the list at some point in the near future. Stay tuned ... I have added a link to the American Craft Museum's site on my "Other OA Sites" page. I also posted a whole batch of other updates to my OA site: some updated URLs on the Other OA Sites page, quite a few new books, and the latest OA Maillist archive. http://oa.evermore.com/ As always, if I'm missing anything, please let me know. Hello fellow list members! Very refreshing to get a note yesterday from Andrew Crawford. I had thought that our maillist had gone to sleep indefinitely. Andrew prompted me to look at his website again- this time I noticed a link to Hilltop OA card company where one can purchase some very nifty OA cards, very reasonably priced, I thought. My question: does anyone on the list know of other mailorder sources for OA cards for the general public? There are times that I would like to send one, but do not have the time or energy to make it myself. Any replies appreciated. I can't believe I forgot to mention this one but I received the latest catalog today and I wanted to be sure to mention it to you. I've ordered a few times from this company and the cards are beautiful!! Unfortunately, the company isn't on the 'Net so you'll have to let me know if you want me to email the information to you directly. I've scanned the catalog so attaching them to a couple of email messages wouldn't be a problem. Only 8 files ranging in size from 108 kb - 280 kb but I don't think Andrew would appreciate them on the maillist. Let me know if you want to take a look at the scans and let me know your email address. If you'd rather not go this route you can contact the company yourself at: Live Your Dream Designs Origami Architecture Greeting Cards 2100 N. Main Street, Studio B-1 Los Angeles, CA 90031 phone/fax 323-226-0274 Best regards, Gerry Stormer http://members.home.net/gstormer/ gstormer@home.com
