(I cannot get hold of the Pattern Sheets of OA book because it is out of print). PS If anyone does attempt to e-mail me at the address below but the e-mail gets bounced, could they forward the 'bounce notification' to M.A.Toomey@usa.net Thanks! If not let me know and I will send you one. I'm still not very advanced in this field, but unlike many others I enjoy not only cutting the cards but also designing my own patterns. Yet I'm by far no competitor for the professionals in this field yet. Today I have completed my work on a model of the Porkov-Church in Vladimir (Russia), I don't know whether there is any pattern of it available in any of the books (which are pretty hard + expensive to get here, anyway). It looks pretty empty, though, since building itself is pretty simple (the church was build in the 12th century) and its only decoration are ornaments on the outside walls. That reminded me that on your homepage you wrote about what you did to your Acropolis temple, would you like to disclose a bit of this secret to me so I can imitate it? I would be very grateful to you. Apart from that, I'd be interested in sharing the patterns I make with you (and the other OA fans) in order to receive some constructive criticism for improvement. BTW, I intend to make a design of the Andreev church in Kiev as my next project... is there a pattern of this building in any of the books available? Thank you for your feedback, Best regards, Andreas ________________________________________ Andreas Iwainsky Roßschwemme 7 A-6200 Jenbach, Tirol Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 14:15:15 -0800 (PST) From: Mary Placencio To: oa@evermore.com Subject: [OA] Used Books and Pattern Sheets 2 Message-ID: <20000329221515.15732.qmail@web119.yahoomail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii I bought a used book, Pattern Sheets Vol 2, from a local bookstore and didn't notice until I got it home that two of the patterns were missing! :( I immediately called the store and told them the problem but unfortunately all sales are final. Before fighting it out by stopping payment on my credit card I thought I'd ask if anybdoy on the list wants to buy it. The two patterns that are missing are of a bridge and steps, both 90 degree. Not the most interesting patterns in the book but I have a collection of only "complete" books. I paid 29.95 for the book and would like to get 14.00 out of it. I can provide scans of the missing patterns on request. Book is in good condition, pages are all very clean, and it does still have the dust jacket. Please contact me privately if interested. ===== The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
